Reflection on God’s Word for Today - 31 July 2026

Many people stress themselves unduly seeking for reasons to justify themselves for neglecting to help the poor and needy in their midst. It should not be a surprise that they do this to no avail because there is no justifiable reason to withhold mercy from those who need it. That is what God commands everyone, and those who love God must love their fellow humans and support them in their time of need as God gives them ability to do. God’s will is that people should see and feel the impact of His reign, and that means everyone should have their daily needs met. Has God empowered you in any way to meet the needs of others? Endeavour to do so cheerfully and you will be pleased, for God loves a cheerful giver.
